The AC/Delcos are a good stock-type replacement, and priced accordingly. It really depends on what you are looking for as far as ride and handling

Probably not do much for the ride, other than maybe make it a bit harsher. The car would respond better in turns, and over smaller bumps/dips in the road. Several members here are using the Bilsteins...I think everyone is satisfied with them as an upgrade from stock, especially those that have upgraded the rear springs from steel to fiberglass.
Others will chime in with their thoughts.

If you really drive the car, you'll notice a HUGE difference in handling. If you don't use the car much, then it's up to you. But if you ask anyone that has them, the Bilsteins are well worth the price! Just my .02!

Just replaced my ac/delcos on my 78 L48 with KYB's and for the price difference for Bilsteins they are fine...although it it not a daily driver...I kinda use it like yours.

Running KYB's for last 20 yrs on mine and love em, purchased set of KYB's for the Red car also but have not installed yet. Mine is just a cruiser, no off road rallies.
