Sarge, by all means, send me a no.! I'm leaning toward taking the more northerly route through New York now. If the road is that much better might be worth the extra time and mileage. Will check in one more time early Sun morning. Sure hope this is gonna happen. Wife says I better come home with the Vette as she's not gonna pick me up at the airport. Mike

I sent Mike a PM with my # a few minutes ago.
If he left already he won't get the #. So, Ken, Dave or whomever else has my #. If he runs into trouble in my area, forward my # to him. Or if Mike's wife reads this, forward the # to him. Thanks!
WOO HAA!! Boston to Chicago, 1014 miles. Set the cruise at a respectible 65(it still actually works!)and headed west! Took 90 through New York as suggested by those in the know. Was wide awake and pumped, thought I could do it in one shot. Tired out about Erie, Penn., got a room at 4am for 6 hours sleep. Passed by Sarges area about 2am but in good shape. Was nice to have a contact at about the halfway mark just in case.(Sarge, my wife collected your no. from the site and relayed it to me, thanks!) Continued down through Cleveland when things hit a standstill. Big truck accident blocking most lanes. Was so happy to get through there I just wanted to get home. Thought about giving Ken a call but from where I was with my route change, 90 instead of 80, I think it would have been about 70 miles round trip south. Home was calling
. Got home about 25 hours after I left the east coast. Vette ran great, temp. and oil pressure steady all the way! Zero oil consumption. Great brakes. Forgot how much gas these things use, I NEVER did a run like this in a Vette! 10 miles from home I ran over a small dead critter in the road and heard a crunch. Thought I cracked the lower spoiler! but it was fine. Think I hit it with the exhaust pipe. I gotta say, I've got a head ache and I ache all over, Gymkhana suspension! This new "driver" is a 79 L82 auto. 11200 miles at purchase. White with perfect red leather. Untouched, except for the aftermarket alarm that's gotta go.(seller didn't have the transmitter anyway). Cleanup time tomorrow. All it needs is clock, drivers window switch, and knob for the wiper delay. Oh! power antenna stopped working while I was there, helped with the negotiating! I already have several power antennas to fit this year. Wife wants to drive it
. We'll see. Mike

Sorry I missed you. It would have been about 70 miles round trip. Sounds like quite a run. Glad you got the car and everything went okay.
Of course you know what this means.
WE WANT PICTURES!
What an adventure that must have been. Sounds like it is a very nice
car. You must have been really pumped to have driven till 4 in the
morning.
Congrats on the new toy and looking forward to seeing some pics of it.
