Besides the enjoyment we get from our cars, we all love the kudo's we get when driving around. But, you have to admit, getting a trophy is like icing on a cake. I too have seen the "good ol' boy" judging, and it does take the fun out of it. But, as stated by other members, I go to see the cool cars, and show mine off.
I won my first trophy in June of this year. The show was sponsored by Natural Glass Corvette Assoc. in NJ. Members parked their cars in a seperate area (they have a lot of members) and all others were were spread out according to class. They gave a lot of trophies out, and not one went to a club member, at least that I could tell. It just goes to show you that not all clubs play a game.

I used to do show & I found, at least in the larger ones, that its always better to have a different make judge you. The shows where another corvette club has been the judges always suck because they have some strange obligation to judge you by NCRS standards or concours judging. For that reason I don't participate in the shows anymore.
Hey Big Fish and Ranger3- You guys look like twins!!!
Both nice looking rides. Love the paint.

I agree with you that a club member should not be allowed in a club's show. They should do their own show at their club meetings. But maybe that would create hurt feelings which is why I don't join a club here. There can be too much pettiness over whose car is best. and then jealously pops up or upper classness. I just like driving it and getting the looks and compliments of anyone. Kids give the best compliments too.
