The only reason I have thought about it is because I can
get a blues station.Nobody plays the blues on comerical radio.Another
thing.I don't know where I'd put the thing.I'm not about to go and buy
a new head unit just for that.Wich brings another question.I had the
place that installed my head unit replace my speakers also. They used
Memphis audio.Has anybody heard of them. They do sound good and crisp
nomatter how loud I paly them.No distortion what so ever.I'd recomend
them,just never heard of them.
you can get the units with an fm transitter built into them and they give you different frequencies to play it thru. also can have ainput added to existing unit to hook it up directly. if you have a cassette deck they also have an adapter that uses the cassette deck. so you can use what you just put in. you get get a unit that is about the size of a credit card and it can be velcoed to the dash or console so you can move it.

Regarding satellite radio, I also said I'd never pay for radio and was content with my mp3s, but i got six months of Sirius for free when I bought my '06 F-150 and now I'm hooked and bought a subscription. In my vette I had cut the center bezel to fit the standard din, but I'm kinda interested in going back to the old look and if I could find one with Sirius, I'd probably get it.

Does anyone have any experience with turnswitch/electro-tech or the tayman electric group. Sounds very interesting and I wil be calling them tommorow to see what they can tell me. I am also interested in their speaker upgrades as well. I will let you know what I find out.
Thanks for the leads.

Well I did take the time to actually hook up my Radio in my 79... and I actually used it once...!
My 72 and my 76 have the radio in the dash BUT are not hooked up to work because i just never listen
The radio in my 64 is hooked up but like the 79 I can not remember the last time I even turned it on..
The Radio in my 98 sure works and I have used the CD player a fair amount especially on tips...
So Basically I can say I honestly have no use for a Radio in any of my Corvettes... The Truck has a working radio/XM radio and multiply CD player..but I do not really get into driving the truck...
Just my opinion of Radios and Corvettes

I had a Eclipse am/fm/cd/sirius installed with a repro bezel and 4 new speakers and a new antena. I have to say Physical Grafitti and Sticky Fingers feel very appropriate..
I bought a portable Sirius receiver from Wally World for around $60.00 that suction-cup mounts on my 'Vette's windshield, or any other car or boat. It transmits an adjustable FM frequency on any unused frequency in your area. The transmission distance is about 100 ft and if a bunch of boats are tied up they can all tune to 89.7 (example) and listen to the same stuff....
I use it regularly, especially on my boat and on trips. Sirius is the best for right-wing talk radio..... if you are into that stuff..

Dave,
Wally World? Is that a KMart? Ok tell me more. I want to use it on an old dial type radio. Will it work with that? I have been told by some yes and by others no. So will it work on the origianl 74 dial type radio?
Thanks Rodney
