It's not legit.........couldn't be.
The only way it would be is if the frame was eat up with tin-worms, and the motor is a `396 w/tri-power carbs. Something smells fishy all the way down here.
Maybe its a typo, and they left the "2" or "3" off the front of the price

What happens is they swipe photos of real cars for sale elsewhere and create a fake ad looking for a sucker. They ask you for a deposit to hold the car and vanish with the money. Sadly, too many people still fall for it which is why the scumbag scam artists are still around. Looks like no one has bitten considering the ad is almost a month old. If it was a real seller he/she would have contacted VetteHound to fix the ad after the first response with that stupid low price. The zip code is in the mountains here in Southern California, but I guarantee you after looking at the pics that the car isn't anywhere near there.
I just e-mailed the seller telling him I am interested and would like some more photos and information on the car. I love messing with these idiots
. Stay tuned for an update assuming I hear back.Daytona69 38627.6585069444

These types of ads are also found on EBAY, normally asking potential
bidders to register with the seller prior to bidding. That requirement
in itself should be enough to scare off anyone since it is not an EBAY
reqirement. They will ask for a credit card number to "check your
credit" presumably to see if you are in financial position to buy the
car. They then run off with your credit card number and security code,
never to be heard from again.
But they can really only fool a first time Vette buyer. As the posts here have shown, no one with Vette experience even takes the ad seriously. Can you imagine being lucky enough to buy a Vette for pennies on the dollar? No doubt they WILL fool someone. It's ashame that the host sites don't take more interest in stopping this type of fraud.

Well I got a response and surprise, surprise...it's some BS about a woman who lives in Slovakia and is selling her dead husband's Corvette. Here's the answer I got...
Hello,
As the seller, I would like to take a moment to
personally thank you for your interest in my Chevy. I know that you have many choices out there and I appreciate your interest. I hope you are serious in
your intention for buying. Don`t take it personally, but I am tired with people who offer to buy my car and in the end they turn out to be scammers, offering to pay me with some sort of fake checks or money
orders.
Anyway, the car is available and I guess you could be it`s owner if everything turns out all right and you are serious about buying. Let me tell you a few
things about it : the car is in excellent condition, everything works and there is no sign of rust anywhere. The title is clean and fully transferable.
It is built for US market, it fully meets all US emission standards and you will have no problems whatsoever registering it there. It has 40806 original miles. All numbers matching. Vin Number: 19437957093.
Let me tell you a few things about it: 1969 Corvette Coupe with only 40,000 miles!! It has a 427/435 L-71 with an M21 close ratio 4 speed. 3.70:1 posi rear. AM/FM stereo, power windows, power steering power brakes, F-41 suspension, rear window defogger, tilt/telescoping wheel, all original and working. All numbers match and are original. I can provide more photos and info if you like, and if you are indeed interested in buying. The car belonged to my late husband, who died 8 months ago serving in the UN
peace keping force detached there from Slovakia. He took great pride in his car and loved it a lot, but I really don`t like this kind of classic cars, I just
don`t see it as a woman`s car. I preffer driving arround in my 911 Porsche. This is why I decided to sell the Chevy. I am located in Bratislava, Slovakia. My final price on this is US 6800$. I know it seems a little low, but I will be quite happy to get rid of it, believe me, ever since my husband passed away, it just sits useless in my garage, and nothing would
make me happier than to know that the car will be taken care of and loved as my husband Daniel did. If you will take this price, I am willing to pay for shipping and insurance to your location. I ONLY accept payment though a third party service, which will ensure the funds and hold them until you have the car there, and will guarantee I get the money after you have the
car.
If you are an honest buyer, I believe you will have no objection to this. I also agree to have the car shipped back to me on my expense if you find it unsatisfactory in any way other than described, in which case you
will be fully refunded. I do not know pretty much about theese machines, but I will be happy to assist you in any way. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, I can provide more photos and info if we can close this deal.
