...working in the man cave. Decided it was finally time to switch out the old dash for the new one I've had sitting in the garage for a year or so...

You know one of those, while I'm at it moments...

While I was at it,  I decided to change the brake booster out at the same time since I could see all the bolts finally. Well found out that seeing all the bolts does not necessarily mean you can actually turn them with a wrench or socket.

After contorting myself under the space where the dash previously had been I figured out the the designer of this car obviously thought the brake booster would outlast the car.  Holy %$#% those bolts were painful to get out.

Noticed the Speedo/Tach lens has a crack in it so I'll replace that also. Might as well swap all the bulbs out also  *sigh* this never ends does it...

You will hurt indefinitely. You will get into positions, contortionists, wouldn't attempt. You don't have enough special wrenches/sockets, that will help. You will utter words, that don't yet exist (in swearing language).  You will also utter all the common swear words. You will have horrible dreams. You will draw blood. But;  man.........it's worth it......just to say (with great pain) "I done dood it" We must really love our cars or are nutz.........

hehehehehe.. i think the skinniest guys have eaten too many biscuits for working in a vetteBig%20smile. but the pain we endure for these great cars.
i know those knuckle busting jobs can be a pain jim but at least you got it done. great to hear that. the only problem i have is after reading these posts about the pain of changing the booster, i have been putting off changing the one on my 75. i bought a chrome on and it is still in the box. one day i will do it (i hope).

I haven't put the dash back in yet...pending a few "while I'm at it" parts......Getting the old one out was no fun...

The GM engineer who designed the brake booster placement should be kicked in the nads...

I know what you mean Jim.  I got started on one thing on mine today, and that lead to two or three more...

Once the parts arrive that I hadn't considered I needed, I'll be all set!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
