Ive wanted a c3 since i was about 5yrs old. Took damn near 30yrs but I got it right outside. They are and will always be the coolest cars in the world.
I wasnt to sure about bringing it to JP with me because of the traffic. Its a hassle and it still isnt legal (its gonna take months) and anytime i want a part take forever for it to come in. That having been said when I take it out all traffic and walking comes to a stand still. Talk about making a great feelin

Had a '72 LT-1 in high school (1974); couldn't keep the old folks from runnin' into it. Knocked the back half off 3 times. |cussing| |cussing| Then a '72 drag car in the early '80s. (12 sec. street car |bouncy| ). Now have a '74. I must like the "Shark" bodies. No other car ever looked like it. I also have an '85, but I bought it for the wife. (I can't stand it! |cussing|) SHARKS RULE! |thumb| |thumb| |bouncy| |wavey|

When I was a kid my neighbor was Jerry Hanna with one of only two Grand Sport roadsters and I was crazy for a vette after that. I couldn't afford even a replica but it will always be my favorite. I've had a 77 and now have a 79 which I wouldn't take anything for but would put a Grand Sport body on it if I had the chance. |thumb|

I started out looking for a '75 vert, but found my '82 T-top and I haven't looked back once. |smokin|

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Considering I am a man who has made his living and life with automobiles, I have seen and driven a lot of cars.

From when I was in high school up to and including now, the C3 has always been my favorite car. There has never been an exception. And although I love them all, the 73 is my favorite. The soft nose and chrome rear really does it for me. But my 75 is mighty fine.

I LOVE THESE THINGS!

In my 20's my dream car was 57 Bel-air. Got one fixed it up and had to sell it when the Kids came. In my 50's I started looking for a vette. The C-3's just somehow took my eye. I wanted a steel bumper car but money aside when I found my 80, fell in love with its looks. Seems like its going fast sitting still. Should have got it back when I had a young back, but when I take the Daughter to her H.S. The looks on those Rice Burner Kids faces confirms my belief that this is what a vette was meant to look like. Hey and no more joke about fat ass's or we will have to go through that thing about how we get in and out again. Ya should have seen this one going through the window when the door locks broke.

as some of the others said, i love all vettes, but the one that really is my true love is a '69 c3. even though all of the c3's have followed the same basic design, the 69 just has a certain something that i just cannot put my finger on it. i think it might have something to do with the metal bumpers and the interior trim that looks like a classic car.

after GM changed the styling for the c4, they lost something. it lost some of the impact it once had. it traded performance for style. then again the 80's were not a very good period for any car! the main complaint i would have is that they tried to make them look to "contemporary" by flattening all the curves and straightening the lines. Its the curves that make a vette stand out. What they ended up with is a car that stands out less, and becomes more of an every day driving car you would see on the street.

every other corvette after that seems to follow that idea. although each generation of corvette surpasses the previous in terms of performance, the newer body styles just seem to get more and more tame. not that they are ugly, just not the same head turn value when rolling down the street.

just my 2¢

stevep316;Well said. After the C3 the Vette just became more mainstream. If you look back on the history of the vette you can see that every generation became more striking than the last one.The high water mark came with the C3.I think part of it has to do with the fact that there are no real car desiners left. It's all about computers now.You put in a few figures and out pop the jellybean. Then you get to make real cool front and read facias(sp)All new cars a just boring as he##.I do think the new C6 is a step in the right direction but I'm afraid the heyday of real cars is gone.I refer to them as Honda camerys or Toyota Civics.Ain't a dimes bit of difference in all of them.Sorry I got slightly OT but it had to be said.
