The tubs were all "full sized"...how else would you get your flat tire home?

Someone has put a full sized tire in your car, Dennis...it didn't come that way originally...

Here's my take on the space tire; get rid of the weight and "invest" in AAA.  Just make sure you request a flat bed if you have to call them.  It will take as long to wait for them than replacing the tire yourself.  Not to mention that you should carry a decent jack (not the original one), something for the nuts and a wrench for the bolt holding the spare tire.  We are also assuming that your spare is in decent condition.
 
Why carry all that if you are going to have a flat tire once evevy 5 years...
 
Just my .02; I know many thinks differently.
