After my interior refreshening and guage lighting upgrade I finally got around to installing my speedometer conversion from Abbott.http://www.abbott-tach.com/cablex.htm. So far it is working flawlessly. You may remember I installed a Tremec 6-speed which had an electronic speed sensor. The other option was to modify the tailshaft section to accept the speedo cable. I just needed a plug from the dealer to install this set-up and it could'nt have went any easier. The plug had 2 wires and the cable x box had 3. the red wire was for 12 volt (engine side). The box mounted up high on the inner fender, way over to the left so you don't even see it. The other thing that makes this cable x so great is its programable. Calculate pulses per mile by multiplying # teeth on the tranny exciter gear times the rear end gear ratio times the tire revolutions per mile. Then look up on the calibration table provided by Abbott and it shows which position to set the dip switches inside the X box. Simple. If any one gets a good deal on any electronic speedometer tranny I would suggest this simple conversion.
