heard the story on the news tonight. The car was being shipped to sweden with a bunch of other cars and they did a vin check on all the cars,
I'd go play the lottery tonight while my lucky star was still overhead.

Good for him. But If I was him (hope not); now that I got my Vette back 37 years later... I'd restore it, and then go hunt down the bastard that stole it, and kill him. Car thieves are low lives. Who would steel another man's car? new77guy 38734.757962963

Saw it on The NBC Nightly News tonight. Very COOL indeed...!!!
The NCM eNews (click here to read) has a link to a New York Times article about it.

Vette(s): 1980 all org. with 18000 act. miles dk claret with matching interior..Eagle alloys ..loaded..excellent cond.
Probably the same guy that stole my 63 split window back in the early 70's. I had the car about three months when the car was stolen. Had a few leads on it but nothing turned up.About six months later, I bought a 65 coupe ($2000) loaded with factory side pipes. About two years later, I got a call from the FBI telling me they had a lead on my vette. Sure enough, I got the car back. Car was still the same color(white) but instead of the small block. it had a 427 in it. What a delema, now I have a 63 & a 65. The 63 had a b/block hood on it and the fiberglass was cracked around the wheel well's.Sooo, I rebuilt the 63 and kept the 65. Oh yea, I sold it for $10,000. The 427, sold that for $500
Live and learn
WOW! That then is just great for the owner! Hopefully the ride is still nice..
Nope, read below
The Corvette, which was originally painted blue with a matching interior, is now silver with a red interior. It is missing the gas tank, has a new engine and transmission and no longer runs, Fleming said.
Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
