This is the first year for my Corvette so I have a few questions about storage for the winter. Does the car get covered in your garage. There is no heat in mine but it is dry and on concrete. The wife parks on the other side of the garage so her garage door is opened daily. Also, if the cover is on should you leave the windows up or down? I wish spring was here already!

I add Sta-bil to the gas tank and top it off with fresh gas. Then I spread a sheet of plastic on the floor under the car to stop mosture and condensation. Then I fog the motor, cover t up leaving the windows cracked open a little. You can place fabric softner sheets in and around the car to keep mice and the like away.

Are snow and ice the reason that you guys quit drivng your Vettes in
the winter? I've been in the south my entire life and have owned a
Vette most of my adult life. We drive them all year. Just curious.

Hey I'm a seasoned vette owner but I can use some help here too! Is there anything special I need to do for the vert top?
Once it snows here they put that much salt on the roads that you dont want it transferring onto your frame and undercarriage. If it were just cold I would keep driving but once the salt is down It is down until spring.
I cover mine to keep the dust off, but this year I am working on it so the cover is on and off. I leave the windows open a crack.
And yes, it is because of the salt they use on the roads. The original owner of mine had the underside coated with rust preventative, but that doesn't always work. Besides, it's too cold here to wash and wax her.

We don't drive vette's in CT either once salt has been put on the roads. Then she doesn't come out until a good spring rain and street sweep in about April. Sucks to put the vette to bed for the winter but it's a great exuse to give it a thorough detail. A fresh oil change doesn't hurt either

I have the misfortune of not having a garage. So mine sits on a sheet of plastic, with a car cover on top. I start it up at least once a month and let it warm up all of the way. IF and ONLY IF the roads are clean I may take it out for a short run.
