|frown| Wow Scot, I don't know what to say other than at least you didn't get caught in there someplace, or run over by your car or something like that. I've heard that happens alot with cars up on ramps or roll downhill. Happened to my mom in her old 77 Ford LTD. Luckily it just went across the street, bounced up a small curb and stopped on the those folks' lawn. We've all done bonehead stuff Scot, so don't worry about that. You could always make up a story like it wasn't in gear and rolled backwards if you don't wanna catch it all from your girl and family. But, you would be telling a lie, so that's not good for karma either, and after what happened, I don't think I'd risk it after all so nevermind! I'll tell you my bonehead thing next time we chat just us. Let me know if you need me to look around out here for a door, but you should be able to find one back near you without too much trouble. Just don't forget to primer it white! If that's possible. I'll be online later tonight if you wanna chat.

Sorry about your car Scot, I have done some dumb things also, we all do, some of us just don't want to admit it. At least no one was hurt in the incident.

|QUOTE|Juliet said: Ouch. |eek| Maybe you can find a door from one of the salvage yards? |headscratch| Was the glass damaged?|/QUOTE|

Juliet, I think the glass is ok(fiberglass is ruined, but the window glass is good)...I've been calling local salvage yards, and nobody very locally has one in good condition(non-rusted)...I'm thinking about just buying a new one, but if you know any salvage yards near you(close enough to me) that might have one and a "reputable" I'd really appreciate it if you could drop me an e-mail with a # or just post it in here. THANKS!

Scot

Everyone else,
Thank you for the support, already told the girlfriend, she was kind enough not to laugh tooo hard. More concerned about my dad's car in which the radiator steamed over and scalded my hand....fun stuff....3 cars at my house right now and none running(well)! Life goes on, and its only $$. Good luck with your rides!!

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Here is another. Problem is they charge to look at listings. They have listings for any car, any year.

http://www.copartfinder.com/

Debbie also gave me one from St Charles, Mo.

Don't remember the name of the yard though. |cheers| |cheers|

Thanx man.

Alrighty....I need to know what my hinges are supposed to look like, I'm still off the road |sad| but I'm getting a white door for the price of a door, so this is very good. I'm still not sure what the heck my hinges are supposed to look like? I'll post pictures as soon as I get them, but I used a broken camera the first time around |laugh| *shrug* the important part of the hinge right now is the part foward of the pivot, the part the door fastens to aligns with the top hinge(I need to see both) so I think it may work, but w/o door the front of the hinge swings outside the body panel and just doesn't seem "right" to me....any ideas?
