Corvette Specialties became a sponsor a few weeks ago. Already, members of C3VR are clicking on our site more than from almost any other web site link! We appreciate your interest.
We do not sell off our web site because we try to offer more personal service. Our site serves more an an introduction to our store, and an invitation to call or e-mail.
We would love to hear suggestions of how we could improve our web site or how we could better serve members of this forum.
Thanks
Larry

Larry - I spent some time browsing your site. I can understand the logic of wanting to give the customer that "personal" touch, thus making them call or e-mail for info on something. The problem with that is that it takes more time and effort for the customer to spend money with you. You should want to make it as easy as possible for the customer to find what they need and place an order. Maybe you could create an online store for the common parts, and just list other things that are more specialized/harder to find. Used parts come to mind -things that are limited in supply, or change on a random basis. Please don't take this as criticism, just one guy's opinion
. Best of luck and I'll keep you in mind when I need parts.

Hey Larry, I saw a trailer, and a few people with Corvette Specialties Logo on jackets at the Seattle Roadster Show? Do you all have a car at the Roadster Show?

There are several stores in the U.S. named Corvette Specialties. Some have "of someplace" added. We are the first, but there was no way to protect the name way back then. We have not been to shows farther than our local area.
And jgoglick, thanks for your comments. You make a good point. We all learn more from criticism and suggestions than from blind agreement.

Larry....
This is great to hear! I'm glad C3VR members are doing like they have always done, and are supporting those that support us!
As for your site, I agree with the comment above. If you don't want to sell directly on the website, you should at least have a downloadable catalog. Or a product listing with instructions to call to order. In this online-shopping era, to get those extra sales, you need to sell online. If someone is browsing the web to find a part, and they look at your site and another vendor that has online ordering, they'll likely pick the one that the can just order right there. If you at least had a product listing, and the customer saw you had a better price, they may be willing to forgo the online ordering and call you to get the better price.
Just some thoughts for you to ponder.
We're glad you're here!

This might be really out there, I know hard to believe, I agree with the others and an outline order guide would be a great help, maybe you could suggest something different than the other people to incourage buyers to look you up, a couple of thoughts that scare me are:
1) maybe some wording to the affect of a discount for live phone orders, every one else gives discount for on line order, you would be putting that personal touch back into the buying game but also give the on line shopper a place to spend there money.
2) not really sure how a person could do this but it is really aggravating when the part you want on line is added to your shopping cart and then at check out you see it is out of stock, so what about a few on line items that you will always have in stock (some thing people will need) sort of like getting into there heads to say " when ever I need this I can go to V.S. because I know they all always be in stock, period...
So with an on line catalog, discount for live calls, and an always in stock on these items section you could really cover a larger market group of potential customers.
By the Way GREAT NAME:

Hi Larry. I agree with the above.
Even if you decide not to add a more detailed parts list, maybe you could break down the parts you have on there now by C1, C2, C3, etc. It would make it much easier to search for an item.
I for one do not mind calling for a part, but it would be nice to know what you have and how much it costs before I call. Pics are a nice touch too, but I realize that would mean expanding your site by quite a bit.
Thanks for being a sponsor!!

Thank you for all the feedback. Since we are a small, family-owned business, we can't do all the things you suggest immediately, but we have started putting a few items in an on-line catalog. I like the idea of a simple price list so you know what we have, and I especially like the idea of a reward for calling. My daughter is our web site guru, and she works for free when I pay for day-care, so we will gradually make progress.
For those of you in our TV viewing area (Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN), we will begin airing a TV commercial in a week or so. Let me know what you think if you see it.

P.S. Did anyone notice I changed my log-in name? GreatPumpkinLS5 was too similar to another member. I had no idea of the scope of this site when I joined and I was just looking for some quick advice for my orange 71. Now that we are a sponsor, it seemed appropriate to change to VetteSpecialties.

I noticed a new "face"!!
Nice! Makes it easier to differentiate you and Mike(GreatPumpkin)!
I looked at your site, and I see lots of goodies...some I really want...but, since I'm sure you're not giving anything away, I'll have to save up a few sheckles first!
I think a small sampling of what you have, listed somewhere on your site would be advantageous. Most Corvette Parts vendors carry pretty much the same stuff, but what does Corvette Specialties have that would be different, or more appealing to the "shopper"? That's what I would suggest...just a small feature, perhaps a couple of items each month, just to showcase what you have to offer.
I totally unnerstand the small family owned aspect, but it looks like ya'll are doing well. Congrats on that.
And remember...you asked!
Thank you for supporting C3VR!!!
