All my jacks still have the NCRS correct greasy fingerprints on them from the production line workers! Never been touched. I'm thinking couldn't one find an acceptable scizzors/screw jack at any junkyard? So many cars are equipted with them now a days...Mike

Well, Mike...unless you have documentation that proves the greasy fingerprints are from the factory, we'll have to deduct a point for cleanliness...

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

What's all this talk about "space behind the seats between the wheel wells?" With the top down and the custom stereo box, I'm lucky to be able to fit an overnight bag behind each seat sitting on top of the storage comaprtments!! Must be nice to be able to take things with you on a road trip! When I went to Carlisle, I shipped most of my things to and from the hotel!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks.
#2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Now this is weird, but I still have the original jack and this spring thing that holds it down in that tiny cubble hole behind the passenger seat.
When I used it I couldn't get that spring off, but finally got it loose.
That jack worked fine for me and got the job done.
Like someone said above, just check it yearly and grease it. It's a "historical functional" kinda thing.

Thanks for reminding me Brian of that terrible experience down there. I haven't thought of lubing my jack, but you bet I will (and hope I never need it again!!). Terry
