Just when it seemed that winter was here for ever Mother Nature gave us a taste of "Driving weather". It actually got into the mid 70's here in NE Oh last wednesday and I was OFF . What a perfect day to "clean out the garage"
. After moving a couple of summer items out from behind 1 Fast 80 I was ready to get her started.(first time since storage in early Oct.) Truly expected to have to get the jump box out. I got in hit the gas 3-4 times turned the key and VROOM. Sweet music to my ears. Looked out the rearview for any signs of smoke and nothing
. Tapped the brakes a few times just to make sure there was pressure. AOK. Put her in gear backed out onto the drive. Got out to check for puddles/leaks/drips/etc.. Garage floor dry
. Check fluid levels Oil 1/2 qt low everything else tiptop. After a couple other checks Belts/airfilter/etc.. it was time for a little trip to the E-Check station( Thats Ohio's version of the emissions standards test). It's about 5 miles from home to the test center so it didnt take long to get there but all I could think of was take everything was going to good for me to get there and actually PASS. After pulling in to the bay and answering the all the obvious questions we all get any time we go anywhere (You all know the ones - Is that your car? What year is it? Are you the original owner? How many miles are on her? Is it fast? etc...). The tech started the testing and after just a few minutes another tech came into the waiting hall and called me over to the computer/printer/register and announced that I owed $19.50. The fee required for all vehicles that "PASS"
the test. Man was a one happy camper. And being that this is 2005 and my vet is an 80 means that I have surpassed the 25 yr old requirment for testing.
So after paying for my "LAST" e-check I drove over to the BMV paid another $79.50 to renew my plates and off for a little R and R drive through the country. What a great day.
Unfortunetly today its 30 degrees and snowing. Only in Ohio.
Save the WAVE.

As a matter of fact today 4/2/05, Cleveland just topped it's level for the snowiest year every recorded. AND there is more snow comming today and later tomorrow. Forgive me if I don't yell whoopie.
Of course Wed should be mid 60's, but next weekend shows 40's and rain.
Come visit Ohio!

Sunny and 60 one day, 35 and monsoons the next.
Glad to hear you came out in great shape.

Hang in there the warmer weather is just around the corner.
Well, I live in Chardon OH and we just got 15" of snow last night. I just got the vert out of storage last week and now I can't even get my snow blower out of the shed because the snow is so deep. Guess I just won't go anywhere until the melt down.

I hope this is the last blast of winter here. Spent 11 hrs last night in the plow truck. I don't even have the urge to hitch up the plow to my pickup and do the driveway. Hopefully it will melt quick.
