That being said, congrats on finding the one you did, and getting it, however long it takes to get it!!

"Money can't buy happiness -- but somehow it's more comforting to cry in a CORVETTE than in a Kia"

I thought the sun would never come out an play...
The day I finally went ta get it a friend of mine plowed the drive to the garage so I could get it in. I was nervious the whole time bringing it homw. (I drove it) Fiberglass creeks and groans alot went it is less than 30 outside.
I will say that it was fun spinnin doughnuts in the school yard before makin the break for the driveway though...

Three months was the time period for my 78SA. Saw it on Rogers Corvettes web site down in Orlando. Called on it, yeah they still had it, and they sent pictures. Beautiful! Called em back the next day to tell them I wanted it(sight unseen!). "Well, it's sold". Huhh! Seems a guy flew in from Europe a few weeks before and wanted it, was supposed to set up shipping. First they told me. Asked if they had a deposit. NO, but they know he's coming for it.
For the next few weeks it was still shown on their site. Called a few times and they were still waiting on the Europeon buyer. Finally I was told it's going out May 1. About May 15 it was still on their site. Called again. "Yeah we still have it, Roger said to put it back up for sale"!!!! I told em I'll take it, gave em a credit card no. for a deposit and express mailed a check out the next day. Car was mine!
Called my sis in law who is a car shipping broker. She set up a driver for me the next day. Driver calls and says he's gonna pick it up the following Friday. Great! Then he says it will be to Chicago in 2 weeks. What?! Seems he was going to pick it up, go home and take a week off while his OPEN rig sits in front of his house with my Vette on it. NO WAY. Then he offers to take it off the truck and put it in his garage for the week. NO WAY! DON'T pick it up.
So Rogers helped me set up a pickup with his preferred carrier, closed. But it was end of May and all the snowbirds were now heading back up north and all the trucks were booked. Take a few weeks. I guess no problem as long as Rogers kept it inside. Then I get a call from Roger. Seems my sis in laws driver is there to pick up the car. No way does he get it, I had told him to forget it!
Finally got here the 4th of July.
When I bought the white 79, I went and got it. Total time purchase to home...2 days.
