Just looking for a general consensus on this one. I'm at the point in the process where I'm getting a stock pile of stock parts and since I am looking to sell after rebuilding less a little ruber I leave on the road, should I keep the stock parts to sell with the car or put them up for sale to raise cash for the rebuild budget?
I would really like to do this all over again with another C3! Just curious what you all think? The car is a 79 so I'm not sure about how important this is vs an older vette where the matching numbers affect the value.

Original L82 engine, stock intake, exhaust manifolds, rochester carb, really everything that I have replaced under the hood. The stock hood since it won't provide the clearance for the 383. I am trying to use a lot of the stock parts brackets etc and will powder coating them. I will try to post a pic. I am running out of room in the garage.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
That new engine's a beaut, but I would say you'll want to keep the stock one and intake.  The hood can probably go, but anything with a number on it, I'd say hold on to - the bigger the part, hold on to it the longest (the engine)

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

My opinion would be to hold on to every original part for the car, for the future caretaker/restorer. It will increase the value of the car when it is time to sell it. As long as any mods that are done can be un-done. One of these days, the later Sharks will be bringing some good change on the market. Even if it doesn't have the original engine/trans installed at the time, if it is available, the price should reflect that.

Ok thats good to know thanks! that's what I was thinking and also why I didn't mod the original engine. This car was neglected bad sat outside in the rain, the OE 350 looks like a blob of tar. There is a whole new interior set stored under the body dolly seats, carpets, door panels, seals. Should be in good shape when I'm done with her.
