On Thursday afternoon, after 4 starters and multiple other problems of which I managed to solve, the rumble around the city was heard and it was LOUD.
The Dang Engine Started.
Finally I made it come to life.
I can now change a starter in under 3 minutes. I ran it for 20 min. at 2000 rpm, and had 48-52 lbs of oil pressure. Ran pretty smooth and had some minor oil residue burn off, but no leaks or knocking noises.
I took some video but I am trying to figure out how to edit it and then post it.
Went home Thurs. nite and felt really bad, I should have gone in to the ER but didn't. (its a man thing).
I did go in Fri. aft. for chest pain and I am stuck here at least untill Mon. aft. They will do a cardiac cath to do a look around.
I tell you it's hard to kill me off.
I need to stick around so I can drive the car next year. I felt sooo goood to hear that engine running after 16 years.

When I get home I will post the start-up video. For a short fat balding guy I didn't do too bad. Thanks to all the folks (Adam, ACPLUS, tux, Kdaddy 79) and others for info and tips to get me to this point.

Talk to you soon.
ps. The food is awfull, I think I lost about 200lbs since Thurs.

Man Bro. This made my emotions do a flip flop. You been waiting a long time to fire her up. I was really happy to read this.
Then your health issue came up. Buddy you need to get well. The car will wait for you. Anything we can do, please let us know.
Please keep us posted Dennis. "T"

Dang Dennis!
You got your car's heart started, so now you've got to keep your heart going!
YOU and your family are in our prayers.
They will take good care of you in the hospital and when you get out you need to continue the process. When you feel better you can get back to work on the Vette, but remember, YOU are #1 now.

Dennis..... that is awesome that you had that bad boy fired up after the long dry spell. I am sure that did your heart some good as well as your overall mental state.
As for the man thing.... well you need to work on that part. I know that portion all to well. I can tell you though that nobody will ever take aany better care of you than you. Look at every thing you do as if it is preventative maintenance because it is for the most important person you have to take care of.
If you do that everything else will just sorta fall into place. Your a good dude Dennis so take care ....
I'm glad they are keepin an eye on you!

Try not to get so excited next time. Great to hear your vette is up and running.
Now just make sure you keep your self up and running so you can enjoy that vette
