Yes a good quality window tint will help reduce heat and allow the A/C to work more efficiently.

I had my side windows tinted with the "legal" tint, and the back window tinted with the limosine 5% tint. It is tough to see out of at night, but the trade off works for me.

Another thing I did to help the A/C efficiency was to install a gate style valve on the heater hose going into the heater core box. Mind you that the one heater hose already has the factory vacuum shut off on it. So of course you want to install the gate valve on the opposite side.
If your factory shut off valve is original you may want to replace that one also. This will isolate the heater core from any hot coolant , allowing the A/C to be more efficient.

Another thing you can do, is line the floor pans with Dynamat or similair product. This will cut down on the heat from the exhaust coming through the floor.

You didn't say where you are, but our customers like the work of Alpha All-Season tinting in White Bear Lake MN (a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN).  651-426-1074

How about louvers for the rear window to cut down on heat?  I think there was a recent C3VR topic about louvers and places to purchase.

Speaking of tinting, does anybody know of a precut tint that would fit the rear window of my 74.  Also what about a louver that fits the rear window of a 74?

I had my side and back windows tinted last year and it has reduced the interior heat quite a bit.   I don't know of any precut tint kits available, you might check our sponsors and see if they have anything.

Put on some sidepipes - that will help get rid of the excess heat. Plus, you really didn't want to talk to whoever's in the passenger seat, right?LOL
