I'm running BFG 235/60'S on my '72 at around 25 PSI, I'm getting advice that the pressures are too low so I would appreciate feedback from you guys.
Also, and I may have asked this before, rubber or polyurethane bushes for the rear spring cushions.??
Thank you in advance,

Vette(s): 1973 Orange Metallic Coupe (orig owner), L82, 4 spd (WR), PS, (A/C & PW (I installed from wrecked 73)), leather, AM/FM Stereo, ran with '65 FI unit earlier & will again some day. 2023 Accelerate Yellow HTC Stingray
When they went to radials in '73, the door sticker said 20 psi all around.  That rides good but handling was a bit squirrelly. I ran around 32 psi except for autocrossing and then ran in the 42 +/-3 psi range.

30 to 32 for my Coopers.  More if autocrossing.

I switched to Mickey Thompson Sportman S/T this summer and found they liked 36 - 38 on the street. They are a very gripy tire. If I run them lower than that pressure the car gets on the mushy side. It took a while to find the sweet spot.

Guys,

Thanks for your replies, the consensus seems to be 30psi so that's what my tires have now. I'm finding the ride to be firmer after going up from 25psi but that's ok..

Also changed out the totally crushed rubber spring mount cushions to urethane, it gave me a little extra rear ride height as well..

I ran my '78 on 225/70R15s at 20 psi for 25 years.  The tyre wear was minimal and even and the ride was fine for me.  BUT, about three years ago I upped the pressure to 25,more to see what it felt like than any other reason.  Definitely a harder ride, but a tad lighter steering feel and slightly quicker response.   I've recently put new tyres on and have run them at 24.  So far so good.

It's a relatively stock car, coming up on 39 years old, so I'm not looking for, or expecting C6 performance levels!Smile

I run 30 psi in my Radial TA 225-70 x15's. I like the ride at that point. Tire wear? well I only put on 2-3k miles a year so they will be replaced for age before I wear out the thread.
