Awww you guysEmbarrassed
I'm going to use my bright coleman latern.....now where did I put those new mantles. OK I'll get my manual out and see what it looks like.
I have to fly out to Carroll Iowa Sunday for the week to do a Kaikaku (is a lean production term that means radical change, transformation, a revolution. It means radical overhaul of an activity to eliminate all waste)
We go into a manufacturing plant and pick up everypiece of their machinery and put it in the right flow, then 5 days later we leave and change our names and address LOLLOL

So I'm hoping to check it Saturday.

Elbow- The bladder in my 79 is made or a hard polyethelene- it's almost like an internal fuel cell - it's a similar grade of heavy plastic - I'd find it hard to believe that it would deform and there's no way to cut that puppy out of there.

Check it first ebo. That's a great setup to keep if the bladder isn't deformed. They were originally put in due to the firery results from C3s in rearend collisions so the fuel could be contained. These only lasted a short time in production.

Hopefully it's the sending unit...

I have never dropped the spare so maybe a good thing to try. Then I can clean and lube it all when i put it back up there.

OK finally got to do some work on the car.

Dropped the spare, flat, no air. Aired it up cleaned up the carrier and put it back in place. Put the battery on charge. Then did what I had hoped to do at Lukes BBQ and took all the belts off. I did not even draw blood! But of course one of the belts is to short. The belts are all the new cog style so its a little harder to match them up. The belts were not marked which is which, so either the alt belt or the air cond belt is short. I'll take all the factory belts with me and cross check the numbers Monday.

The PS belt was the only PITA. i'm sure trying to get them tight will draw blood and tricks? So if we had tried to do these last Sept it would have not worked out so well. The omly belt with wear was the Alt belt and all the others have to come off to get to it.Confused

Also took off gas filler door and pulled connection off the fuel gauge sender, no change in the gauge just stays at 3/4 full, Looked as best I could with flash light (no tourch) and did not see a bladder looks all silver. I did take a section ofpvc pipe and run it down into the tank did not feel anything move and sounded solid.
May be a bad gauge?
Anti freeze and oil change next. Great day!

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
If I'm not mistaken, your car does not have a bladder in the tank.  Too new.  Seeing silver confirms this, the bladders are black.  Go back to the signal wire and ground it, then leave it open, and see what the gauge does.   Grounded it should read empty, just as Joel said, and open it should read past full.  If not, the problem is likely in the dash.

Ken its so nice to See Wink you again on the site!
I did check the gauge with the wire off and there was no change. It is very easy to get to so I'll go back and ground it. How hard to change out the gauge? I can pick one up at Corvette America or MAM if its a plug in play?
Thanks brother!

Better yet if it's easy I'll just borrow the Red cars gauge.....
