Vette(s): Little on the rough side right now, with new paint and new interior it will be looking fine!
So my 75 vette that i just purchased in NM has little to no surface rust on the frame, and i was hoping to get something on the frame to protect it before it is moved up to Ohio in 6-7 months.  I was thinking about having it undercoated because i am not wanting to do a frame off restoration on this car.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

I hope to one day be as knowledgeable as most the guys on here... but till then I'll have to just keep asking the questions with the obvious answers....

sounds like a great ideal, but unless you can get it clean it good you may
have air pockets that collect the moisture and make it worse

Vette(s): 1977 Silver Coupe; built on March 15, 1977. Every option except towing package and roof rack! Just turned 61,000 original miles!
Corvettes never had undercoating except some deadener in the wheel wells.  Please check the rails of the frame on the passenger side for any factory markings (Stencil VIN).  I have discovered all kinds of markings that were masked by somebody prior to me who used too much undercoating on the rails.  Looks like you have picked up a fixer!!  Good luck and keep us posted!!

Yeah there were definitely some markings there from the factory!  all i had to do was just wire brush to get past the little bit of dirt that was on there to see them!

Unless you are planning to drive it in the winter, I would not undercoat it.

Eastwood has a nice kit to spray into the insides of the frame rails, and some nice spray bombs of chassis black. But I do not think i'd undercoat either.
