Yeah me too!!! but I really do like the ZZ-4. It does a great job in a low rear ended 4-speed vette

I wish I knew more about that kind of thing...but I don't. All I really know is I have the M-21 with 373's.
I have the window sticker that was on the car at the dealer or I wouldn't even know that...LOL |withstupid|

your launch gearing would be 2.20 * 3.73 : 1

or 8.206:1

better than mine... but youd want 10+ to drag it

Hiya Debbie,
Been a while since I have been on here. Sorry to hear about the engine. "Rosie" looks great in her 'basic black' Get her a nice set of pearls to hang from the rear view mirror.
I told you before I was buying a 383 for my Chevelle. I got it and took it to an engine dyno shop. Did the pre-oil and the 30 minute cam break -in. Did the first run ok but a valve got hung up in a guide and it bent a pushrod at around 5100 rpm on the second run. Guess it pays to have a warranty. It is a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty and so far the guy has made good on it, at least as far as sending me a complete new set of valves, pushrods and valve guides. I also found incorrect rod bearings ( luckily before they 'went away' ) I sent the company a list of the expenses so far and hope to hear tomorrow how much they will re-imburse me. Now that I have told them the problems I encountered, they are changing some of the manufacturing. I think they are still selling the short block, which has a steel Eagle crank, fully machined, balanced and assembled with speed pro cam and pistons for between 1700-1800 dollars. The heads cost $400.00 from the same place. I had a friend of mine do a full pro comp port and polish on the heads. Next dyno run I hope to see around 450 hp and around the same for torque.
I go to court next month to finally settle my law suit on my 454. I just can not wait to get this over with. It has been 18 months since we initiated the paperwork. The guy who did the 383 heads wants me to get a 502 block and turn him and his tools loose on it so he can stroke it out to some ridiculas displacement and have his buddy ( who owns Predator cams ) make me a special grind cam. I better start saving money for new trans, drive shaft, rear, half shafts, etc. etc.
Good luck with your engine.

Fantastic! You must have a really good husband to do that for ya. Does he enjoy driving rosie? My vette is at the dyno shop right now. she's got fuel delivery problems being fixed first then I'll know what kind of power she will pump out on the rear wheels. I'm praying for 310-350 rwhp. 357 cid, trickflow aluminum heads, comp 270h .470/.470 cam, 1:10.2 comp. 750 cfm edelbrock. performer eps manifold, dynomax headers.

I have a very understanding Husband and he enjoys Vettes as much as I do!! He has a '94! :D
We are a 2 vette ''family''!!

I think he feels sorry for me! |laugh| after all that has happened over the past 3 years getting my Vette the way I want it..and then to have the engine blow 3 months later, I think he just wants to see me ''happy''!

I just luv him to death!!!!!!
