I am going to begin a restore on my 75 this summer and would like to do some updates as I go like the suspension for one.  there are many ideas out there but I want to be able to be sure the update will work for my car is there someplace or somewhere one can check to make sure it will work before it is ordered.  Getting parts up here in Saskatchewan takes time and freight is crazy so one does not want to be reordering because they find out that oops that one isn't going to work.

I used Vette Brake and performance to update the suspension in my '81. I also ordered the dvd that showed how to remove and install all the components which was extremely helpful. One of the best parts of the video was when they made a mistake by doing things out of order. They left it in, and told you about it. Nice to see the experts err from time to time.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

Depending on how deep you are going into the restoration make sure you have the books before you start and take pictures of everything:

 1975 Corvette Factory Assembly manual

74-75 GM Factory Service Manuals on CD

Paper copies: I understand that you need both 1974 & 1975 books But the 1974 is the most important.

1974 GM Factory Service Manual a paper copy

1975 GM Factory Service Manual a paper copy

Then I would ask this form every time I started a particular area.  You will then get specific advice on what to watch out for and what order to go in.

By the way I checked the links and they all seem to work.  One other thing I would do is check the supporting vendors prices before you purchase anything.  It just helps keep the doors open on this site and all of them provide quality service and produces as far as I have heard.

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
I used VB&P (Vette Brakes & Products) for the front suspension rebuild on my '79. I chose to go with the rubber bushings like it came with, but they also offer poly bushing kits, too.

I'm happy with the end result. One issue was the height of the new springs was a bit higher than the old ones we removed. Turns out they hold the car up to the same ride height after installation,  but springs are made differently nowadays. Their telephone helpline was helpful.

Try to stay away from the cheap stuff.  Censored Nightmares!!!
