Since my clock is dead,I'm thinking I dont really need it. I'm playing with the idea of changing it for a vacuum guage, ( engine diagnosis).
Anyone ever had one permanently mounted? any problems with leaking?
Hope to find one same size & color as clock in a '73

Lots of folks used to have vac. gauges in their cars. Called them "Motor Minders". Used mostly to get the best fuel mileage.
Leak? Not likely.

I ran one in my Monza years back... it was one of those "neat" things and was interesting to watch it as you tried to find the best cruising speed with highest vacuum...
never had a problem with it, it was a auto-meter

some one an idea if a 2 5/8" diameter gauge fits a c3 instead of the clock?
to my idea it is just a little to large ?
