...Even at 18k, I see you going the wrong way on this one...
I tend to agree. $22K for a matching numbers essentially unmolested big block is not unreasonable.
Does $22K seem about right if I need new paint and carpet and some other small stuff? If it ends up being a 2 or 2- car, what price range will it fall in for resale. I only ask becasue I can not get to upside down on this project.

Is this a common issue? Drivers side crack in door sill?
Thanks, John

I have to agree with Joel about this being a strange place for cracking. I think I would gently take a hammer to the frame and tap around a bit. Also look for frame damage on the top and inside of the frame, its best to check while on a lift!

Vette(s): 1969 COUPE FATHAM GREEN PAINT 427 CU.IN. 390 HP. M22 4 SPEED. THE ONLY POWER OPTION IS THE 427. NO AIR,POWER WINDOWS.STEERING,BRAKES. THIS CAR IS A BLAST TO DRIVE. FRAME ON RESORATION AND A PUMPED UP MOTOR WITH HOOKERS INTO 3" TUBES AND INTO FLOWMASTERS.
I bought a 69 basket case coupe big block about 10 years ago for $5000 and now that it is complete Ihave got 30k invested on a frame on restoration non numbers matching .I could write a book on what to look for but I cant do that to you. Everything said I add that checking the body for repair is important. Run your fingers under and inside the fenders and feel for any bondo or glass work. Be carefull, I cut the hell out of my fingers on mine and that was after I bought it.Look this car over top to bottom inside and out and under the carpet. good luck
