Most of the shows in our area are open, but have classes for vettes only. I like open shows because of the varity. Vettes were not the only car made. A good resto or custom is great thing to see and their work should be rewarded as well as ours. I have mee some good friends at shows and we try to get together during the winter at least once a month to keep the friendship going an talk family and shop. We try to plan our attendance so we can all be on the same page come show season. We never win and thats the point. We get to spend a day together, usually support a good local charity and root for the other guy. Its a lot more fun if you don't take it seriously. We do have local vettes only and super Chevy shows in the area and we attend and take these to  heart. Personnally, I like road rallies and poker runs the best. My car is not the best at shows, but it's always the best of show to me. My opinion - hope it'll help you.
