Well, yesterday I went and picked up the Vette! The car runs amazingly well! A little lope at idle, then it really cuts loose when you hit it! On the way home I noticed it had no heat but didn't give it a second thought because I figured Lew had the heater shutoff valve off. Once we were home (about 45 miles), I popped the hood and sure enough, the valve was off. Opened the valve and still NO HEAT! So I called Lew (on Saturday night, no less! I have his cell phone #,what a guy!) and he said to check the antifreeze to see if there may have been an air pocket. Checked it, was a little low, topped it off, but still no heat. While I was checking that I noticed that the bottom of the fuel pump looked moist. When I had talked to Lew, he told me he would be in the shop today and if the antifreeze didn't work, to bring it in. So off we went this morning back to the shop but I did get a weekend pass! By the way, the paint looks AWESOME. When he was repairing my boo-boo he noticed that the rest of the car didn't meet with his standards so he sanded it down, repainted it and used a new type of clear. The car feels much more solid with the new body mounts. So close, but so far away! It WILL be done by the gathering, however, so WATCH OUT!!

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible

Let me get this straight...  There was no heat inside the Vette and you had a problem with that because...?

Can't wait to see you Jackie and the car in a few short months!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Lew definitely sounds like a good guy! The heat thing has me perplexed!!Stern Smile

Let us know what the diagnosis is. Is it blowing or are you getting nothing at all?

Paul, the diverter doors all work fine as does the fan! A/C works like a dream. The air comes out the holes it's supposed to, just no heat! Lew didn't seem the least bit concerned about it so I'm leaving it to him. Remember, this engine was in a Chevelle used for racing So the hoses could just be in the wrong places. The engine doesn't heat up at all, running between 160 and 180, even at idle with the hood up. The old engine always ran at least 200, so like I sad I'm sure it's a minor issue. Don't want the missus to have cold tootsies!

Yeah, Rick, the paint looks better than ever, it just needs a few things sorted out. Did you get your new tires on yet?
