I own two c3s and a c2. I am confused -what does the sequence number mean in the vin number if there were only about 21,000 corvettes made in 1967 but my vin sequence number is 111487. How does this work?

The first 1 is the code for the car line series.  A 1 for the 67 Corvettes; changed to 4 for '68; changed to 7 for '69.  Whatever the number, it remained the same during the entire production run.  All the '67s had the 1; all '68s had the 4, etc.

11487 is the actual consecutive unit number for your car.
