I am a brand new C3 owner and have a vin question. I have a 1973 and there is no mention of a "J" in the fifth position of the vin according to Yager's Corvette Bible. He says that it should be either a "K", "T", "X" or "W". Is that a typo in the book because on this website it says the "J" means it has a 350ci engine. It may be a really basic question for all the seasoned owners but I am already confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The J is for the base, L48 engine.
Z is the 454
T is the L82
Don't know what Mike's book has in it, but...apparently that info is incorrect.

Thanks for the quick reply - just trying to be sure I at least understand the basics. Never knew how much information was out there. I am sure I'll have many more questions. Have a nice evening.

Angela one of the easiest things you can do is to plug your Vin Number in to this Easy Decoder.
Another Vin Number resource to understanding the numbers can be found here.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out - I am sure I will have many more questions - I'm a little computer illiterate by choice but I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can. We are really enjoying the new addition to our 2 and 4 wheeled family.
