Other than the winshield pillar, where else is the VIN on a C3 corvette stamped?

On top of the frame, just behind the rear body mount, driver's side. With a mirror and a light you can see it,as long as there's no dirt & crap on it. It should also be on the tag on the driver's door, if it's still there. Happy hunting !

My bad I should have said to the inside of the rear body mount.

There is a body mount in front of the rear wheel and one behind the rear wheel where the sway bar attaches.  Which one are you refering too.

Thanks

That would be the mount closest to the rear of the car, around the diff. crossmember area. You may have to move a fuel vapor line to see it , if your car has one. As far as the vin on the trans, most standards are on the vertical boss, where the tailhousing bolts on. Mine is on the driver's side, but I have seen them on either side,on the top, or on the bottom. Automatics are usually on the pass. side pan rail (TH350)toward the front. On TH400, usually on the driver side, on the pan rail toward the front, or it could also be stamped on the flange where the dust cover bolts on. The factory had guidelines on where to stamp these parts, but it wasn't ALWAYS adhered to. Some came through without any v.i.n. on the trans. Seek and ye shall find!

Your VIN can also be found on the frame rail directly under the door sill on the driver's side. It's almost impossible to see with the body on though.

Hey all, I have a 68 with an aftermarket 350SB.  Does the vin tell me what the original engine was?  If not how can I find out?  I like the 350 but would be nice to at least know.
