Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

I have been interested but would like to have some input from the family on this topic"  The under the car lights"  I know that all the rice burners use them, but I think a red glow coming out from under the vette with those pipes just a rubbling would put the span of satan on his heels....   please give some feedback, good or bad, be kind, shucks has a set of red ones for about half off, just considering at this point.

Thanks people.

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

On street rods, pimped out tuners, and whacked out 4X4s they may look good, but not on a stock LT-1 (in my humble opinion).

But if they 'trip your trigger' go for it!

Well Larry its your baby, and the only thing that really matters is what looks good to you.  I say if you like the look go for it.

Don't forget theres always that ON/OFF switch

Eh.... from a younger perspective... NO WAY DUDE! I hate ricers, and thats like their primary trade mark! A Vette belongs sleek, and mean... it doen't need under-lights to look mean, or be powerful. Just the name.... new77guy38788.0503819444

underbody neon is more of a cosmetic modification, but it in no way implies "ricer."    I've considered using blue neon under Noel while she's blue, and maybe either green or blue when I painted her black, but I think the sidepipes would conflict with it.  I think it can look good if it's used properly, and it is used on a lot of the street rods/hot rods.  It all depends on what you like, and what you think will look good, and how you want to reflect your own personality in your car.  Red would look good under there, for sure.  and, like Mark says...there's always the on/off switch.  Good luck in deciding, mate.

I used to think it was a ricer thing, but after you go to enough car shows you see that there are a lot of hot rods that have them too.  If you want to do it, I say go for it.  I've been thinking of putting a set under mine as well.  I figure its nothing permanent.  If you don't like it, take them off.  You can also use them to accent the interior a little bit too.  I had put some blue ones in the speaker grills and heating/ac vents of my F-150.  Looked really nice.  I didn't want them lighting up the entire interior of my truck, I wanted something that didn't stand out that much.  It was neat to see a neon blue glow coming from those areas.

My brother actually did this on a Street Rod aboput 10-15 years ago in Maryland... only to discover that it is ILLEGAL in Maryland ... ???

Trucks especially "fancy" 18 wheelers can have a million lights on over on top of under you name it on their trucks.. but put something UNDER a passenger vehicle is ILLEGAL...

Made no sense to either of us and still does not... made no difference if the car was being driven or simply parked at a cruise in etc......it was only a 25 buck fine but he had to have the car inspected to verify that he removed them...!
