There is only one possible answer.     Noooooooooooooo Way!

You've got the best possible thing on it right now.  Those chambered exhaust pipes!  This way they can hear ya before they see ya.  The ricers will be looking all around to see who is going to smoke em.

Do you want your '71 LT1 to look like all the others, or do you want to have it stand above the rest.
It's your baby. Do what makes you happy.
I did.
And it ain't like it's permanent.

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

Thank you all for posting your thoughts, opinions, and words of wisdom, I really enjoyed ALL of the feedback.

I have opted away from doing this brain fart to my vette, there were a few of you that gave some really good feedback that ultimatly help me to come to this decidtion I do not regret the choice I have made thank you and if the mod to this forum would like to lock it so no other post can be made then go for it the thought is dead.......

[QUOTE=Bob Griffiths]Now I love Corvettes, (obvious with 5 in the garage) BUT I am a strong avocate of doing your thing to your own car...PERIOD!

If The original poster wants to plant a Vegie  garden on the passengers side of the car...FINE WITH ME....  Its his, he should be able to do anything he wants with it...

HOWEVER ... This car is a 1970.... Drum Roll: >>>>  LT-1 ...solid lifters
The rightest of the right stuff for driving fun...Big Block power with
the handling (the ability to chew up Big Blocks on any road course (or street that are not 1/4 mile long and straight as an arrow...)

SO ...I sure as the devil (was going to use a 4 letter word) would NOT do this...and thats my opinion.... !Instead I would put some Raised white letter "tars" on that Baby FIRST...

Mike:
Too Many to drive as much as I want to...And too many to keep in the shape I like to keep them in...Honestly!

I'm downsizing ...Sold my 68 SS 396 Chevelle in April...and traded in my 95 Vette for the 98 Vert last month...

It took me 30+ years to accumulate these cars Just nevr had the heart to sell another Vette after I sold my 57 in 68 when "we" needed a
Family car...so until last month once I bought one it was mine forever
But there just comes a point where too many is too many..

The 79 is having ignition problems and I have not gotten to it all winter
because of other things...First time in my life I've ignored a car with a problem ... It Really ticked  me off... !!!!

In My opinion 3 Vetts would be perfect...However  I would have a hell of a time selling even one of mine..

So true Bob! I feel the same way. Never will forgive myself for selling my '65 vert for a family car. I only have two vetes, but I'm not selling any of them - over my dead body! I still have my old '67 Bug because I don't have the heart to sell it. It got me through some rough times. More power to you Bob, your a great guy!!!

Don't do it!!! Nothing is hotter than a stock C3

But also it is your car and if you want to "mack" it out that is your perogitive--whatever floats your boat!

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

Larry, I don't have a problem with it.  Sometimes things look much different than they sound when talked about.   After all that plate message frame is very cool.  I have seen some very cool custom muscular cars used undercar light.  They are not restricted to ricers by any means.  OF course if you can see the lights themselves, they are not nearly as good looking as when you can only see the glow.

Just one caution.  There is not much room under a C3 and ground clearance could be a real problem.  Just more food for thought.
