Vette(s): 1980 loaded red on red. 68,000 original miles. Second owner. Well documented with all original paperwork. NCRS Founders Award 9/27/14. NCRS Top Flight 10/12/14.
I replaced all the weatherstrip two years and company claimed theirs was the best and that's why the price was more then the rest of the competitors. It came from the company that Dr. Rebuild has sued several times and won. Corvette rubber is the way to go! I know most of the NCRS guys with C2 buy theirs from Corvette Rubber. FYI when you call Corvette Central, Mid-Americe etc.if you call the tech line instead of customer service line they will tell you who the supplier is. For example Mid-America and Eckler's exhaust system comes from Allen's stainless steel exhaust. But it is less expensive to buy it thru mid-America instead of directly from Allen's. Because Mid-America buys so many systems they sell it for less because they get a better price. Despite what you read on the internet about Dr. Rebuild attitude I have purchased items from him and they are top quality. When I read about him on the net I was afraid to call him but after I wished I had called him when I started my restoration. His rules are not any different than the other suppliers. The 800 number is to order parts and you need to have the part numbers. The tech line is for questions. If you use a credit card the items have to be shipped to the address on the card. Follow these rules you won't have any problems. His wife Debbie answers the phone and she is always pleasant and Dr. Fills the orders. I have bought NOS original parts from him that nobody else has and the prices are better than the reproduction parts. If you don't see an item listed call and ask if they have in stock because they can't always get items listed on the net. Sometimes it might take a day or two to pick the order so be patient for delivery. I have always received my items in a timely manner. I have bought original parts that I don't need just because the price is right and nobody else has them. Hope this info is helpful.

I'm going to buy weather stripping this week. Seems to be several recommendations. Corvette Rubber Company, Soft Seal, Mid America Motor Works, and, Dr. Rebuild. I went to Dr. Rebuilds site, and, spent the next hour checking out his attitude. Holy Moly. There are certainly a lot of people and organizations in his cross hairs. Anyway, Redwoman seems to think he's great. I guess I'll just check around some more. I do want the best product I can get.

You have to overlook Doc's gruff attitude Ray.  Or do like I do...hang up if he answers and call back later until you get Debbie on the other end. LOL
I spoke with his wife Debbie at Carlisle 2-3 years ago. She's has to be a saint being married to Doc. I told her to make sure Doc stays off the phone and just fills orders. I still order stuff from him. It's all been good.

Of note. I bought all my weather stripping(13 piece set), a gasket set, inner and outer door seals, related hardware from Dr. Rebuild. Several things were more than his web site was quoting. His wife would tell me a particular product was no longer made by so and so, only made in the U.S. now. Better product. I appreciate that, but, seems kind of tacky. Everything was about 760.00 with shipping and insurance. His schematics are better than anybody else, so, I know what pieces I'm getting. Hopefully it's all real good stuff.
