hello- i am interested in selling my vette. It is a beautful car but i fell i can make a profit off of it. The specifications are as follows: 1976 L-48 approx 95000 original miles original retuned engine, (possibly rebuilt?) crome under hood, have most of original parts in boxes. paint is only several years old very good condition minor scratches. original wheels and center caps new tires. f/r/ bumpers bought but not painted or mounted. Interior completely new no rips or tears. radio/clock/tach/air/heat/wipers do not work everything else does. It is a very nice car and does not need body or engine work at all, just some mechanical. I have looked at countless price guides and i feel it is better than low retail and just right around average because of some mechanics not working. The paint and engine are in great condition. could any experts put a ball park price on my car based on thier expierience? Also, i haven't pumped my money into resto yet. Would i be able to get that much more if i got everything working or should i leave it as is? last question (sorry for long message) about how much would it cost to have a body shop paint, mount, fit my f/r bumpers? thanks for all the help-

Well, I am not an expert on price, but I will tell what I was willing to pay 1 year ago for my 1976 L-48. The car is original with 85K miles. It was part of a private corvette collection for 6 years and was not driven much so a few gaskets have minor leaks, very minor. All gauges work except that pesky clock. I will get that working this summer.
The paint is original with a few touch up spots that I can tell that they resprayed. The collector that I purchased it from agreed to put new brakes (discs were ok) including master cylinder and new pipes and mufflers from converter back. Exterior is an 8 of 10 and interior is a 7 of 10, seats are perfect, just normal wear on door panels. I paid under just under $10K including tax and transfer.
Primarily baught the car because the color screamed "Look at me!" For what ever it is worth, good luck!

Vette(s): 1974 Black 454 Stingray coupe, turbo 400 tranny, barry grant 750 carb, hooker super competition headers, moves along!
the tach and especially the wipers and heat not working are really going to detract from its value. I would get those things working, air conditioning and the clock not working are pretty normal for c3's Just my two cents. I'd put the value with those things fixed right 8,000 to 9,000.

I helped a friend sell his 76. It was completely original and had only 2 owners with 27,000 original miles. Even had the original tires and wheels seperate from the car (the previous owner installed mags when the car was fairly new). The original paint and interior was in perfect condition and the car never saw rain. Sold for 12,000.00. The low miles and originality of this car pushed the price up considerably higher then most would normally sell for. Ask a high price, you can always negotiate downwards a lot easier then upwards.
