Well, folks, I did it. I actually DROVE my '74 today! This is a car that I haven't driven in over 3 years! Not that it's not drivable, but because I spent so much time & $$$$$$ restoring it, I was afraid to! Anyway, it made me remember why I bought it in the first place, which was to have a cool car to drive, at least on weekends. I bought this '74 in 1997, with 43,000 orig. miles. Today, as I was drriving it to get an inspection, it rolled over 46,000. GEEEEZZZ!! 7 years, and I've only put 3000 stinkin miles on it. It is such a great cruiser on the road. I actually got a little giddy I've got to get this thing out more, and ME with it !! We're going on a road tour w/NCRS next month, and I believe I'll just by-cracky start enjoying the 'Apple' more often! Of course, Mamas gonna want me to get her '85 going again, too. It's been parked for 3 years, just because we have so many other vehicles to drive, it's just been sittin. Please, nobody call the 'Vette' abuse hot-line! I'm gettin back into the driver's seat!

Congradulations on gettin' her goin' again. I know the feeling very well. It is very scary thinking you have everything back in correctly and it is actually safe to drive.

Any new and exciting unexpected problems??? Usually it is something dumb, something you thought you could get to later, but now have to fix?

Enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling....spring is coming and I will finally get to enjoy all my hard work too.....some bugs to work out...but really not anything major.

Its nice to save them for special days. But sometimes it is just as good to get them out to remember what you really bought it for. I try to drive mine as often as I can. Get that Apple out and enjoy it.

Ya don't unnerstand! I finished the restoration on this car in 2001 !!! I just never take it out of the garage, for fear of some nut-bag creamin' into it Believe me, there are plenty of jerks around Dallas that can't drive, and the sight of a nice 'Vette just takes them over the edge! There's ALWAYS some 'tardo in a Musturd or Honda that thinks they can take it, but I ain't gonna give 'em a chance to screw up all my hard work!! I've done everything on this car except the actual paint myself. There's a lot of pride in my ride, and I would just like to be able to enjoy it more often Everything works and operates properly, no problems there. But it sure is a blast to drive! I'm gonna get it out and enjoy it more often, now that I've gone as far as I can with the NCRS deal. WHOOOOOPPPIEEE!!

Hey Joel great topic.  I just got my first vette in Dec. I have been waitin' through months and feet of snow to drive it: well today it was sunny and 61 degrees I took the t-tops off (for the first time and went for a cruise) I could not have been diggin' it more.  Kids along the route are hilarious they just stop what they are doin' with mouths agape: a bright orange loud rumbling C3 is probably like nothing they have evr seen in there lives.  Cant wit for the local cruise nights.      I love this car!

I know what you mean about the little kids. You can tell just by the way they look that it's the first one they've ever seen and don't even know what it is.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
When I took mine around the block some kids were dumbfounded.  But an unidentified car, not paint, almost no interior, no trim.  It really made them stare.

Eveytime I drive mine just around the block or returning from a ride, the kids are waiting and jumping with joy just to see my vette.

I'm very glad and honored to have kids admire cool american dreams!!
