I would have to do just one thing if a friend trashed my car.  Call my daughter! Now, they're in trouble.

Dave C..........My mantra: I can not be bought!!      Long and short term leases available.

We had just finished putting a new distbuter in Adams car he needed to get home from the Ct. gathering I took it around parking lot and when in sight of Adam i steped on gas and brake over and over and he thought the car was still broke.....his face was priceless...as I drove up he said are you messing with me and I just gave him the ebo grin.....that was the first time he had actually met me.....
He also forgot to say he drove mine that day.

Awww Joel, don't make me drive over to your house and hang out. I know you don't want that. You have been the best of friends to many of us several times over and, in spite of your denial, you can't diminish the feelings we have for you for all you've done for us, and we do take all your spare time ( Online ). Hope we're not causing you grief with the wife, but don't that sound like friends to you bro. Sorry we don't know how to repay the kindness you've showed us, but we'd be happy to if we could.

Jimmy,  (representing more friends of yours than most folks ever dreamed of )
                                                   chaw on that, my friend.

Back on topic....If you let a friend drive your Vette, he must be a dang good one and you assume all risks when you let him or her behind the wheel. Don't let anyone drive it, if you can't bare the risk. Real friends are hard to come by....... and I know that might seem easier for me to say since I've got a backup, ....and you're right.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I know you all will think I'm crazy but it is only a car. It is a car it is not my wife.  Granted it is an 82 Collector Edition and if it were one of the earlier C3 I may think differently.

I have let a couple of kids from church drive mine with me in the seat.  I enjoy installing the dream of owning a corvette in them.  They all love the style and it does not have the horsepower to get you in trouble.

I have let a friend take it out for a test drive with his wife. They now have it on  their dream list to own one.

I do have a two close friends I would let have it for a day or weekender up the coast if they wanted.

Now my corvette is just a driver if it were a show car that is a different story but then I would not be driving it around.

If it gets crashed it is insured and I would expect them to pick up my costs but it is just a car.

I agree with Gilbert. It is a Corvette, but it is only a car. Even the ones that went down the sink hole at NCM are only material things. Friends are forever. Anyone who wants to drive mine is welcome to. Just stay safe.

Ive let my daughter drive mine on a few short trips. I also have an uncle that I let drive it anytime he wants to but he knows anything happens to it and he bought it. I also agree with "its only a car". Id hate to see something happen but I could always start a new project!
