I've noticed several references to radios in threads recently so thought I'd share some internet info I've gathered recently. Couldn't decide whether this belonged in the Electrical or Interiors forum, so dropped it here instead.

In looking for parts to complete the installation of the stereo radio I bought from Gunther, I've been chasing around the internet following various leads I've received from folks. Here's a few that might help. I'm not promoting any of them, they've just responded to my inquiries regarding the parts I'm looking for. I'll update this list as I continue my search.

Good links. Thanks. I bought a cool thing a few months ago - it's a personal CD player with an FM transmitter. So I can play my CDs and keep my C3 & C4 totally stock! |bouncy| I got mine from Emerson online. |rollysmile| No affiliation, just incase anyone is into the purist no mods thing but want's their tunes I thought I'd share in a related thread. :)

Juliet,
My friend had something like that in his Vega. I really liked it and may have considered it if I knew about it when I first put a new headunit in my vette. Its definitely something to consider if you want to keep the stock look.

A while back (on CF) someone posted the name of a place that made replacement dash bezels with a DIN sized hole. I lost the address, anyone know? Joe

re: DIN bezels...I got this information from several different CF threads...

You can get the face plate from Dave Smith at Audio Unlimited in Norcross GA. Phone number is (770) 925-7003. It was under $20.
or

Part # is Fp-306 for 68-76 Corvette's. Don't know what the price is.

Thanks, I downloaded american international's catalog, it looks like the bezel covers only the radio part - is that removable from the gauge part? Otherwise you have to hack the stock radio part to make this work. Time to hit the junkyard. Joe

Hi
The radio bezel is certainly not detachable from the gauge bezel on my 68, unless you use a hacksaw. |toungecool|
I had to repair my radio bezel when I removed the aftermarket radio to install a original one again. The knob area was partially cut away. |cussing|

It didn't look like a separate part, but I was hoping... Looks like a trip to the junkyard to see if that vette is still there. Joe
