Vette(s): 1969 Monza Red Black Conv / Black Vinal hardtop 454/480 Tremec 5 Speed 308 Posi.Black Leather Interior, PS, PW, Air cond., tilt/tele,AM/FM Cass.-5 Pack CD, Hurst Shifter, side pipes 2004 Yellow convertible with black top and black interior
Is anyone out there tired of reading articles in Vette magazines about these really amazing Vettes with wild paint schemes, updated suspension packages, wildly modified engines, etc. etc. Actually I love reading about different Vettes and what is involved in either keeping them stock or modifying them to the Nth degree. What I really hate is the fact none of these articles ever mentions how much it costs !!!! I also dislike those who call their car a driver ( or even daily driver ) and it is a C2 or C3 with 16,000 miles on it.
Any thoughts worth putting on electronic paper about these topics ?? |headscratch|

Glenn, they probably dont mention the cost because anyone who owns a Vette knows that it is going to cost a lot of $$$$ to even do repairs let alone modifications. |wavey| Then if we all had your many 2 cents worths we wouldnt have to worry about the cost. |cheers|

Just the maintenance to keep the white princess as a 'weekend driver' is making me broke... |grin|

The money part don't bother me much, but the daily driver thing does. My ride's got 74 k on her, she is my only car, therefore my daily driver. A true daily driver. And I like it that way. It forces me to keep her clean inside and out. People say kids are harder to take care of, well, prove it to me man. If you don't see me in my ride, there's a dang good reason. I worked hard for my Vette, and I wanted to drive one every day since I was about 8 years old. I got my dream and my wish and I'm loving every minute of it, even all the lil rattles and squeeks and problems. It just goes with an older Vette that's driven in my opinion. I think those mags need to come talk to us you guys!

yeah, I don't know about these drivers with 16k. My odometer SHOWS 17k, but I'm very sure that's 117k! I drive it every day i can, costs more than most cars to run, but I also have a basket case car. I would like to see the cost for wild mods too. Fun to dream right!?

Forgot the whole point of posting! in high school, I used to dream everynight of pulling up in front of the school in my 79 Corvette. I didn't own a 79 Vette, but my uncle did, and I woulda sworn up & down it was the most beautiful set of wheels in the world! I woulda been darned close to right too, 71-72 Blue on Blue BB would have to be the MOST beautiful, but a White 75 is close! Anyway, always been my dream to drive one everywhere I go, and I love it!
