The "Birthday Book" is just that...it basically just gives production figures for the months/days from '53-'82.
There are a ton of books out there that have enough info to make yer head spin(which explains some of my posts! ).

I would suggest these books:
'74 Assembly Instruction Manual(AIM)
Factory Service Manual(s)(Repair/O-haul)
NCRS Technical Info/Judging Guide, & '68-'82 "Specifications Guide"
The Corvette "Black Book" by Mike Antonick
M.F. Dobbins "'73-'77 Fact Book"

There are many others. There has also been a few of threads here on the subject of "What books should I have?"
Just get as many books on the subject as you can, and learn as you go. We can help along the way.

OK, thank you, already have the shop manual and the assembly manual..... I recently ordered the NCRS spec manual and joined the NCRS...

I would like to know more details such as in 1974, how many Corvettes came with the LS4 in dark brown metallic.... do any books go that specific?

Nope...not even how many cars were produced in any specific color for these years. How many LS4's, sure...3494. The best anyone can do is speculate on color figures. GM didn't keep records(reguarding color figures) for very long for some years, or, if the records are out there, Indiana Jones couldn't find them.

Just found this site -- good for 1953-1968 and 1974-1982.   Looks good to me - says mine was born on December 5, 1973.
