I have a 1975 vette, this is my starter car but I have a concern about some sounds from the back of the car... I cant say rearend.....cause I really don't know if it's coming from there....but it feels and sounds as if something is loose? in the rear of the car......It seems more prominent when I am applying the brakes....but doesn't necesarily act up just when I am applying brakes.....
Some one I spoke with that owned a C3 said she had the same problem.....she called it chatter....?
Does any one know what the heck it is and what do I do to correct it?
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..... Randy Sullivan. Ms.

You could get a rear end chatter if the clutch discs are sticky. The normal fix is add limited slip additive and drive it. Yours sounds like something more then that though, You might want to try and be a little more clear of where, when and how the noise is generated. Could be anything from worn u-joints to trailing arm bushings and anywhere in between. Start with the u-joints, then check the end play on the yokes, rear wheel bearings, e-brake parts rattling around and/or loose, broken rear spring, broken rear shocks, front differential mount, strut rod bushings, etc.
