Where under teh car is it coming from? Could be any number of things. Front - belts? Middle - Trans Rear - Rear end. What type of whine? Only while driving or when stopped as well? In drive, all gears? IF manual, when clutch is out, in? |saluteflag|

It is an automatic, and it only happens when I am moving. It sounds like the driveshaft. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it might be. |smokin|

Never heard of a driveshaft whining... but I won't say it's not possible. My bet would be the trans.

I had a whine coming from my rear end - it only whined as I applied slight power to maintain speed in the 30 to 40 mph speed range ... had the rear end worked on (pinion gear?) and it is fine now ...
