Vette(s): 1982 corvette crossfire production numer C5101985. Color is silver and claret. All original numbers match. slight mods to crossfire for better efficiancy and power balanced and added fuel pressure assembly between throttle bodies,
I have a question concerning fitment of wheels.
I found a set plus 2 of 67 camaro wheels and tires with about 400 miles on the tires. two are 15x10 rear and 4 are 14x7 for the front (well two and two spare rims)

http://twinfalls.craigslist.org/pts/3965610948.html they are very close to where I am but I am not sure if they will fit, my 82 corvette. I really want to keep my stock original ones for show and shine and perhaps these for daily driving.

any thoughts.
thanks
Marcus

Well, i know for a fact that the vette wheel will fit onto a 69 camaro, as i let someone use my spare to get his camaro home from way back in high school... someone slashed one of his tires at a high school function one night, and his dad got there, said that he would have to come back in the morning, well, me being me, i wouldn't want to leave my car there overnight, so i offered my spare hoping it would work for him.. and it did, though it was a little wider(15x8 compared to his 15x7) but it got him home, main thing in that instance...   however, the 14 inch rims will probably not work, as the clearance of the brake calipers will be an issue... but hopefully someone here(say, Joel) may have a little more insight than i.. :)

I had a feeling their wouldn't be enough clearance, but what about using spacers to help with the clearance?

Spacers won't make the rim a larger diameter. The 15" rims will fit, but may hit on the calipers in turns...the 14" rims...no way...I doubt they would even bolt up. It really depends on the backspacing on them. The 15"x10"....will fit, but the tires are gunna stick out, and the rim may also hit on the parking brake bracket on the side of the trailing arm.
I'd have to pass on this deal, unless they are realy cheap, and you can find someone with an early Camaro to sell them to. Ouch

I'll keep mine then. they are 350 for all of them with the tires, tires are nearly new.
I do know someone who has a 68 ill speak with them and see if they may be interested.

thank you for helping me not to make a big mistake

Marcus

Just a Thought check the age of the tires. their was some posting on how to determine how old the tires are. it was a concern on our cars with low mileage usage but have set for years.
