I recently picked up a 75. It has wire hub caps. I seem to remember seeing these on other C3s. I looked around the internet but can't find any other pictures of C3 with wire hub caps. They have the corvette flags in the middle so I think they are original. Are they?

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
I don't remember corvette ever offering wire hubcaps as an option. I'm not saying they didn't, but I think what you have could have been off an impala or other GM product. The inserts can be changed to almost any emblem you desire.

The Corvette Black Book mentions no optional wheels or wheel covers for 1975. The standard Rally Wheels were all that was available.
It's possible the wire wheel covers could be a genuine GM accessory for another car like a Caprice. The selling dealer could have installed them or anyone could have at any point in time.
