Hey guys,

I found a local '73 here.....

Its got the chrome bumpers in the rear, they took the urethane bumper off and put on a beautiful fiber one and molded it in already. The vin comes back toa  '73  t top coupe with a 190HP 350. The trans is rebuilt and looks clean, the motor was rebuilt and looks clean, and looks like a strong motor. HUGE intake and DEMIN 750 carb, looks brand new. A/C car, but its missing the pump brakets and hardware. and the console with the A/C plate, the head lights function when the switch is pulled, however, the enghine is missing the feed tube on the carb so no gas gets to the carb and no vaccuum pressure means I cant see if the lights FLIP up, the lights come on (no engine start = no VAC pressure).

The bushings and suspension was all redone about 5 years ago it looks like, they put a monosrping in the rear as well. Its a nice looking red '73. THe doors and interior need minor work to get going.

The front DRIVER fender fiber glass is TORE UP big time.... he said his sister was pulling it in their small 2 car garage and she dug it into part of the truck, its not bad, its fixable without getting a new clip, paint is daily driver not show paint so Im not worried. I may repaint it black, IDK.

Anyways, that being said dude wants 5K. I tried gettign it for 3K... he wont budge, then I said 4K, and 4500 and he said no. I said 4500 last night, he said no, and I walked away. You think 5K is a good buy?

He knows that its worth 10-12K rebuilt. I wasnt planning on that.... Hes spanish and doesn't speak good english, so Id didnt think he was a true vette guy, but he is, lol

What should I do? There is 0 RUST too...

Thanks guys,
-Louie

Louis, it sounds like it's worth it.   Not a great deal, but okay.    73 is actually my favorite body,  I really like the rear chrome and soft front styling.

We'll dude from what I have seen of your body work it doesn't sound like the fender or paint is a big deal at all..I am sure there is a vacuum port somewhere on the intake you can get a vacuum source from..if not a ol drill and tap would make one..doesn't sound like a bad deal if you can get the body fixed for a decent price..

I would tell the guy to get the engine running then go back and look at the car again.

Well I tried. THey speak horrible English. Its a mexican family. They lied about the car's running conditions and the fender being messed up, just to get me there. No they are suing the excuse that no one is working so they can't buy the linkage and get it on to start the car.  I am not wasting my time or $$ for anything to verify the car starts or not. Judging by their history so far, and the bad communication factor and the price being so low, the motor is probably seized and they are trying to find a sucker around it to buy it.

SO the hunt continues for another vette or mustang..... ;)

If I were you I might drive by ever once in a while to see what happens to the Vette. Patience is a virtue and for those who can wait there are rewards.

I have bought some pretty decent stuff from an offer and a follow up.

LOL! Wouldn't you know it....... Look who called me yesterday?
"EY, BUDDHY..... DE CORBEAR IS STAHTRED, ALL FIX, NOOO PROBLEEM!, YOUU COME SEES NOWWW?"

So, I will check it out again today at 1:30 PM PST. If all goes to planned, little Louie should have another Corvette to play with. WOW! 2 Vette's Before I am 25? I am cool as hell Cool

lol

He's asking 5K, if it starts and drives that '73 is worth it. about 1 or 2K into it make it look decent with a few things to do.... worth an easy 10-12K.

Its a NON A/C car, it just has fresh air control. So.. its not worth as much. And they added a VAC pressure gauge on the outside of the car, so I hope the headlights work, I am going to like explode, cuz he said they work too.

All in all... he's asking 5K....

I am going to say.. UN CARRO POR VENTA MAS DIAS, NO BUENO! 4K..... He'll say NO, no, no, no, no..... Then I say... $4,500.00 AND if he say ay...no....noo.....no...., Then I say... You say, "you no work, no trabajo, no bueno my friend, no bueno..... 4,500$ still or $4,600 depends on how I feel at that point. IF he says yes cool, if no then:  I say NO, NO, NO Bye bye, and buena suerte mi amigo!
TATA!
