I'm still trying to figure out how a fully restored car has aftermarket
valve covers and stickers under the hood. Did I miss these
options? I never recall one coming into the dealership like that.

Lets look at this in another way guys. We all know this is not worth
20K by the number of bids (0). And it is not fully restored by the
pictures posted. But I, for one, hope he gets every dime he's asking
because what does that do to the value of all Vettes? It just raises
it.
How about this slant. Let's say you live in an area that housing is at around 150k and you neighbor just put his house on the market. Now let me ask you, do you want him to sell it for 125k or 175k. Ding, ding, ding and the winner is 175K which just raised your property value by 25K.
If you just look around at the dealers that sell classics and Vettes they are all up in price.
Just my $.02 worth

This auction sums up my last 2 years. That is the amount of time I spent shopping for an 80-81 shark. A ton of stuff on Ebay was just bad. I looked at more cars that were A) Restored, yeah right and Ray Charles was your QC inspector? B) Nice but over priced C) Restored meaning the car was waxed and the oil changed. This doesnt mention guys that knew nothing or pretended to know even less. Dont get me wrong, this is not a knock on this car to be auctioned. Its just highly "optimistic"..... I own a guitar shop and we used to do a ton of business on ebay. Lately Caveat Emptor has been a little to liberal and we are staying away. I know its not me because business has actually increased because of lousy ebay descriptions and no protection. Again, this isnt to say a majority of people are honest and accurate but when shelling out some heavy coin, the few bad seeds make it difficult...
Oh, I hope he gets his number. It will do nothing except raise the market which if you own the item is a good thing...... Sorry about the ramble, Ebay has been a little "optimistic" lately!
Wavin at ya! KEBO
