As I would like to keep my original booster I was looking for some information about how to rebuild it.

So far I found only one usefull description:

It is not really from a Corvette, but it seams very close to ours.

I'm sure most of the people would say, go and get a new one. Yes that would be the easiest, but.....

Did someone from you performed such a task before? If yes, how tight were the shells and can the load on the springs be handeled? How difficult will it be to get the shells again together?

Where would it be possible to get the parts needed for a rebuild?

Your link shows a typical booster rebuild....your GM booster is not all that different. They ARE a big pain to disassemble and reassemble. I haven't done one in probably 30 years because they are time consuming, and not just a little bit dangerous...the spring is pretty stout in most boosters. Getting them to seal after twisting the two halves back together is hit or miss....it might work, it might not.
I don't know where you might be able to purchase the rebuild parts, either, but they are available somewhere. Good luck if you do it, and take plenty of pictures of the process!

btw...the Factory Chassis Service Manual does have a section on rebuilding the brake booster.

I'm mainly affraid about the spring load but I have found a mechanical shop who would open and closed it for me.
So if I can find some parts I will try a rebuild one day.
It is not on the top priority list at the moment because there a plenty of other things to do at the moment
