I'm not sure of the Vin# I bought the rolling chassis several years back from Billy Gramhams camaro and firebird salvage in AL.  I was going to modify it and put my 60 impala on the frame, But since my dad gave me the impala for grad. He wouldn't let me cut it up. So its on to a new life under my 77. I got the papers for it somewhere i'll try to find the vin for you if you're interested?

Wow Jamie sure sounds like you have it goin on with this car's set up. I didn't realize before you had all of the xtra's. That makes a difference. Sure should be a smooth / quick ride when it's done. Pics along the way would be kewl!Tuxblacray2007-11-08 04:02:03

FWIW, Eckler's sells a "Max Performance" suspension kit.  I thought the catalog stated it was to upgrade your C3's performance to that of a C4 (or something like that).

Kit costs $2400 and includes front and rear monosprings with all other suspension stuff. Link below.

Anyone done this?

Well Chevy Junkie 93,

I would love to do what you are doing.  The lines and style of our "vette" is the sexiest car ever built.  I drive mine almost every day.  But with the right setup, this could be an economical HOTROD.  drop in a modern engine with the fuel injection, put in a six speed or an overdrive auto and a modern suspension brake combo and WOW!  25 MPG, handling on rails, 0-60 in 4 seconds, stop on a dime with change to spare, and the best looking car ever made.  At least in my dreams that is what she will do.

GOOD LUCK!  keep us posted.

So how much of the GS do You have?  Keep in mind that the GS was a Production Car and that in 1996 all 6 Speed Cars had the LT4 Engine. Also that all Auto cars had the Lt1. So Unless You have some evedence that it was a GS it might not be. Having the GS Wheels would give it away. It would have to have the LT4 Engine as well but that would only let Us know it was a 6 Speed Car and not a GS. I assume that the Engine has a Serial Number on it to match the Frame, the GS's had a special Number, and the last Four Digits indicate the Build Sequence between 0 and 1000 Cars that were produced.

It was a true GS. I was there when they tore it down. All I got was the rollin chassis with the wheels. I hope this is my last night here. I get ya the info on the car soon as I get home. I wanted the whole car but back then my budget wouldn't allow it.Cry Oh well Life went on. But I got a line on a wrecked LT4 CE coming up for auction soon. Hopefully I'll be able to buy that car.
