Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
Is there a way to "READ" the numbers on the calipers for year, front/rear, or if they match the numbering system on the cars? What are NCRS rules on what they look for? I am not going the JUDGED route, just wondering if mine were Originals.  THANKS

As far as I know, NCRS is not judging caliper dates, with the possible exception of BowTie cars/candidates. There IS a small stamped date on the calipers, usually around one of the bleeder screw areas. I can't say for sure, but I think it is a Julian date code...much like the one used for carburetors.
The caliper casting number would be a good way to determine if it is correct for the car, for a start. Most aftermarket calipers will not have the correct, GM style casting number. Also, most rebuilders will stamp their own identifying numbers on the rebuilt calipers.
