Eagles.
Many years ago, some of my friends used to run Dunlop GT Qualifiers on there hot rods, with good results. The only downfall noticed with the Dunlops was they were a very soft compound and didn't last long.

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
You should get the Firestone Firehawk 500 series tire. That is the new generation of the original tire on our cars back then.
I got them on my car and the ride is great and they are really cheap too.

I agree. My tire guy is a BFG dealer and he told me to put on the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. I can't tell you how long they last, but they are FANTASTIC in the rain. Right after we put them on my wife and I were caught about an hour away from home in a horrific thunderstorm and I did not spin a wheel. The windshield wipers stopped a couple times, but that's another story. Dry handling and ride are great, too!

Barry

I just did a compare on tire Rack, with Eagle GT, Dunlop, BFG, & Firestone.

The Firestone Indy 500 blew them all away. Once compared it's a no brainer.

Barry I can see why they were so good in rain, almost perfect score for hydro plaining. Also deepest tread depth and widest surface print + 55,000 mile.
Looks like we can close this thread

Same price as Dunlop & BFG. GT's were more than all but then someone has to pay the blimp drivers

I have the firehawk on my truck, they are a good tire. The next best was dunlop, then BFG and in last place the goodyear. All are pretty close but you are right the firehawk does very good on wet surface.
Ok now we can talk about ummmm? lug nuts, yea thats it, lug nuts! Mine work great, hold the tire right on the hub.

I've been running the Firehawks for a year now. Got about 12,000 miles on them and real pleased.

OK I put the Firestones on tonight, plus new front brake pads to replace the fluid soaked ones.
Rides nice and stops straight again.
I'm ready for the weekend cruise to the Finger Lakes.
Only thing I'm not crazy about is the raised Blue lettering.

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
